Self-supporting PRESYSTEM® Roller Shutter integrated systems adapted for the large windows in a special redevelopment project. Obviously with Class A certification.
A futuristic plan, symbolic of the new Milan. This is the essence of CityLife, the redevelopment project for the historic Fiera Campionaria trade fair district that saw participation by some of the big names in international architecture, including Daniel Libeskind.
The 8 buildings on the south-western side (five 14-storey and three 5-storey) were designed to be unique and unrepeatable, featuring huge windows and top-quality materials.
Thanks to its capacity for delivering innovative bespoke solutions for the specs of the building in question, Alpac was selected to supply PRESYSTEM® Roller Shutter integrated systems for all 3,400 French windows.
A combination of very large stud openings due to the buildings’ characteristic huge windows and a non self-supporting building material meant that the integrated systems could not be fixed to the walls. This led to fine-tuning by Alpac of a specific self-supporting integrated system, dry fitted by qualified personnel using certified methods and materials. The aim was maximum performance, in compliance with the requested Class A requirements (already tested on KlimaHaus Class A buildings).
